Michelle Murray’s artistic abilities emerged through the influences of Francisco de Goya, Melinda Byers, Ansel Adams, Richard Avedon, and Andy Warhol. In addition to much self teaching, Murray studied with several fine instructors in France and Germany via informal studio classes while in the Army and stationed in Germany. There, she absorbed the acute attention to form associated with photojournalistic photography, subsequently refining her own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerge many times through her focus on the points of intersection between architecture, sculpture, and spatial analysis, as well as the human form.

Murray’s work can be found in small myriad of public and private art collections both in the United States and abroad. Her work has been seen in numerous local level exhibitions worldwide during the course of her travels in the Army in such places as Germany, France and Kuwait. She currently lives and works in El Paso, Texas.
